I'm truly happy to say that this evening we started and successfully completed (pulled off?) our very first beauty workshop in the new studio. A big thank you to Donna Marie of Makeup by Donna Marie for leading tonight's fabulous workshop on brows. We had a small group and Donna Marie taught them everything from finding and locating the proper arch to the differences between a natural brow and a bold brow.
Filled with tips, tricks, and chocolate (and some red wine too) it turned out to be a great night.
We have plenty other workshops for you to join in on - it's not too late! Check it out here.
Can make it in October, no worries - we are gearing up to host more in November! Hope to see you soon.

It's another big night of beauty with The City of Pickering ...
I'm looking forward to hanging out with some Pickering Teens this Thursday June 18, 2009. It's about prom, grad, and glam beauty.
But teens aren't the only ones curious about beauty. Every woman is curious about beauty. So much so that I'll be hosting a BlushPretty Beauty Board night on July 12, 2009.
It will be a night of food, drink, and beauty ... I'm talking playing with the latest in skincare, haircare, and cosmetics. I'll gather up the results on what's hot and what's not and share them with you here on blushpretty.com.
Sounds totally fun, right? To learn more or to participate in future beauty nights, send me an email at stephanie@blushpretty.com!

Makeover Madness this week!
Further to yesterday's post, you already know that bp is scheduled to appear live on Midday (Rogers TV) today! It's all because of the Makeover Madness event I'm hosting with The City of Pickering and their Free Teen program. In honour of this event, this week will be dedicated to teen beauty ... (but even if you aren't a teen, chances are you can still learn a few tricks!)
To start of the week, I'm going to share with you a tip I found in the cutest little beauty book for teens called "The Girls' Book of Glamour: A Guide to Being a Goddess", a Scholastic book (and a great gift to give).
Have you ever wondered how to determine if your face shape is oval, round, square or heart? Here's what the Girls' Book of Glamour says:
"To figure out what your face shape is, pull all your hair back with a headband. Look in a mirror and trace around the outline of your face with a lipstick (the sharp edge of a bar of soap will work well too). Move away from the mirror and look carefully at the shape. Decide which shape your face is most similar to ..."
The book goes on to give examples of what haircuts work best with each face shape. There are tonnes of other beauty tips for teens (or post-teens, like 20, 21 or 32, ahem). Other topics in this book include "How to persuade your parents to let you have your ears pierced", "How to bathe like Cleopatra", "How to descend a staircase gracefully", and my personal favourite, "How to tell a friend she's made a fashion error" ... I know - super cute, right?
