I think I'm turning into Vera Wang.
And that's because I cannot stop wearing leggings. I've noticed that I've been wearing leggings more and more and more ... and I do not know why. Is it because they are easy to wear and pair up with the dresses the floaty tops I wear? Is it because I am scared I won't fit into anything else in my closet? Is it because I like the way I do not have to stuff the hem into my Frye boots? I don't know.
Anyway, I've decided I do want to try the whole jegging thing and I came across these GAP Stirrup Legging Jean in Black. I feel like the jegging will be my dressed up version of my normal leggings. (Ha - is that possible.) I'll admit, I do not know how I feel about he whole stirrup thing, but when I think about it, how cool would it be to never have to worry about the hem of the legging riding up? I do know that I would probably prefer a jegging rather than the normal skinny jean. I'm not ashamed to admit I've got a bit of muffin top (but I've also had two children so I've got an excuse ... ) and the waistband of freshly washed snug jeans doesn't make me feel all that hot. I find jegging waistbands way more forgiving and comfortable.
I'm a big fan of GAP jeans ... they've always fit me well, so looking to them for a black pair of jeggings seems logical. I want these because I like the way they will/would look with my current staples: a white button down and denim button down ... plus, I'm crocheting myself a pretty green and blue infinity scarf with really soft alpaca wool and I want to pair all three together.
Mr. BlushPretty has the day off today and I asked if we could go shopping ... needless to say, I am heading to the GAP!

I've said it before: I like a good piece of statement jewellery.
Give me an overloaded charm bracelet, or a chunky ring, or a layering of tarnished gold lockets, and I will wear it.
Before, when I had a 9-to-5 and worked in a group with three other stylish ladies ( we were known as the fashion quad ... our cubicles were tucked together in a far corner on the bottom floor of our office ... we always had new shoes, pretty dresses, and the best stock of candy and chocolate to be found ), wearing such jewellery never seemed to be out of place. And I would totally break the rules by wearing one thing too many.
Now, when my uniform consists of a slouchy but oh-so-soft white tee, leggings, and Frye boots at least 4 days out of the week ... I've kind of learned to tone it down. One of my favourite things to do right now, is to wear my grandmother's 24K gold bangles (seven very thin bangles) on one arm and my Forever 21 set of black bangles (25 cheapie bangles) on the other. However, when I'm working with a bride, the jingle can get annoying, so I've been topping my white t-shirt with a statement necklace instead.
Right now, I pair a white tee with a chain and floral one that I scrored form Target for $16. But I do have my eye on this lovely Jett Mixed Media necklace from Banana Republic. It has an element of the chain and metal trend that is happening right now, but mixes it all up with a hermatite. I like how it looks like a tangled pretty mess.
I often head to BR for jewellery. I have tonnes of cocktail rings from them and a few thick cuffs and bracelets. I think I will add this to my collection ... thank you.

When your lipstick tube looks this good, I think the old rule of never touching up your makeup in public can be thrown out the window.
Who wouldn't want to be seen holding such a chic and beautiful tube of lipstick?
I have one Burberry Lip Cover that I adore. Its Heather and I love the colour (wear it every other day!) but I love the case ten times more. I know they say you should never judge a book by its cover, but if I were judging this particular cover, I wouldn't expect anything less than its luxe, lush, and smooth texture.
Now, back to the prettiness of the case. With it's subtle Burberry check etching (and the lipstick is etched with the check as well) and the magnetic pull so that you know it's closed, I'd save this case even after the lipstick is well past worn and gone. It's a metal like colour and shiny. So so luxe. While I wasn't used to such a big square case at first (i'd say 98% of all lipstick tubes are round or at least have beveled or rounded edges) which made holding it awkward, I quickly adapted my grip.
There are 21 colours in the collection, so if colour happens to matter to you as well you have selection!

I remember when I would wear black high heeled & tall leather boots everywhere.
It was a must throughout high school, university, and even when I started my career in the legal field that I had a pair of black high heeled & tall leather boots (there is another charming name for boots like these that contain a curse word, but I'm not that kind of blog ...) when going out or doing something that required me to look "grown up" and of course "super hot".
Wow, have my fashion priorities changed.
Now, I cannot imagine living without my Hunter rain boots - which are nowhere near high heeled or leather or can be nicknamed with a curse word. I can wear these everywhere and with almost everything and my feet will always stay warm and toasty and dry. I pair them with my denim skirts, my leggings, my jeggings. They are just as stylish and just as chic as any other boot I previously owned.
Black high heeled & tall leather boots just wouldn't cut it at the dog park, rainy walks with the dog, or my new pasttime, digging for snails with BlushPretty Boy (long story short: told him my client had a huge pet snail, guess who wants to grow snails now ...). Who needs to look grown up or super hot doing any of that?
On a lazy day, I'd wear leggings, a longer tee, my favourite cashmere cardigan, and my Hunter boots, paired with a bare fresh face, some mascara and some Rosebud Salve on the lips. Now that's hot!
