every eye needs an eyelash curler ... help us find one!
I remember very long ago when the BFF and I discovered Sephora B.C.C (Before it Came to Canada) and all we would talk about is when one of us heads south of the border, or if our parents were returning from south of the border, we would ask them to get us a Shu Uemura Lash Curler.
I remember when I finally got my hands on mine, (purchased by mom in Las Vegas and delivered to me with a "I can't believe you spent that much on that - why is it so expensive?") that I treated it like pure spun gold. Now, I don't even know where it is.
Since then, I've picked up several different lash curlers from dirt cheap (Sally Hansen) to mid-range (Japonesque) to high end (Laura Mercier). And I've had brief affairs with them all: loved them and then left them.
And I suppose that is where my BFF is at right now. In limbo, looking for a new eyelash curler to fall in love with.
Another friend of ours suggested a Chanel one like hers, but couldn't place where to purchase it or how much it was. Well, BFF of mine, my advanced Google search techniques (ha ha) says that it was actually a limited edition kinda thing, so I'm not sure it's still on the market. If it is available, it's approximately $34 dollars.
Anyway, it looks like the BFF is back at square one looking for new curler. For all you beauty junkies out there: would you be a doll and let us know what your favourites are? (and where we could find them and how much they will break the bank)
THANKS!

Thanks for this post. I love that so many people on Twitter are letting you know which eyelash curler they love. I myself love Shu Uemura and it looks like I am going to continue to use it and just go and pick up a new one. But I like hearing what everyone else is using.

This is an epic journey I also share! The Shu Uemera is fantastic, but... they no longer sell it in the US (where I live) -- do they still sell them at Sephora in Canada? (If so, it's just one more reason for me to love Canada!)
I recently picked up a Tweezerman curler and I have been pleasantly surprised. Of all places, I got it at the check-out stand at Bed, Bath, & Beyond (so random). Not sure if they have those in Canada, but worth checking out.
As for falling in and out of love with curlers, I think the key is this: They all die *waaaay* before we think they should. I think the reason we feel like we don't like "that one" (whichever one it is) anymore is because, quite simply, it doesn't work as well as it did when we bought it!
I think ol' Shu Uemura is the only one to be totally straight about that fact, right in their packaging -- I think they say to get a new one every... 3? 6? (cannot remember now, but it's a low number) months. And not just replace the pad! Oh, no -- replace the entire device!
So maybe it doesn't really matter if we get the cheap ones -- just gotta keep replacing them (which makes cringe to say -- is curling our eyelashes worth landfill? Sigh.)

Hey Kelly and Leesh! Well, it seems like Shu Uemura is still and will always be the winner when it comes to eyelash curlers. :) Everyone on Twitter and Facebook agree .... cah-razy!
Thanks Kelly for the input on Shu Uemura packaging ... to be honest, I tear up the packaging to get to the product and never think to read what it says! :)
