If I Were Lea Michele, I'd Be Wearing ...

Lea-Michele by Siobhan B., BlushPretty Intern

There’s been a huge amount of hype over the new musical comedy show on Fox … Glee. It’s all about a high school glee club (a musical theatre club) - hence the title. It’s been extremely popular and I’ve heard, quite hilarious. The main character in this show, Rachel Berry, is played by Lea Michele.

Who’s Lea Michele?

Lea is a New York born actress who has starred on Broadway, and because of her work in Glee, she’s received both a Satellite Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.  And to add to that, she’s been nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Teen Choice Award. Talk about a resume and she’s only 23!

Alright so we’ve got the background out of the way, let’s get to the INTERESTING business. Being from Spanish and Italian descent, Lea naturally has that exotic look. She has stunning features - oh and of course - that long dark hair. She plays a bit of a dramatic teen on Glee, but this girl has “sexy new star” written all over her. She can sing with the best of ‘em, and rock the red carpet. She's on fire right now and we all wanna look like we’re on fire right? ;)

Here are 5 products that will have you jumping for Glee!

1.  Alright, so I already touched on how Lea Michele’s facial features are to die for and have become the target of my jealousy for the time being. Highlighting and contouring probably have a lot to do with that. Makeup Forever has a fantastic “sculpting kit,” available for $45 Canadian at Sephora. Make those cheek bones POP ladies!

2. If you already have those exotic looking, seductive eyes like Lea Michele than you’re lucky, and the rest of us are totally envious. Gel liner is an amazing way to make any eye look dangerous! Line your top lid close to the lash line and try creating a tiny wing to add some extra awesome-ness. Try Stila’s Smudgepot in Jet Black, available at Sephora or online for $20 Canadian.

3.  Lea Michele has that silky smooth extremely long hair. Well, I bet it’s all extensions right? Either way, if you want your hair to look as good as hers, Pantene Pro-V guarantees to have your locks looking their best or they will refund your money and switch you back to your old shampoo! Available at Shoppers Drug Mart and Wal-Mart for about $6 a bottle Canadian.

4.  Every girl wishes they could have that perfect pout. For lips like Lea’s, check out the Body Shop’s new Love Gloss. It goes on slick, and the unique applicator helps you to get the gloss on evenly. Available at the Body Shop for $12 Canadian.

5.  Lea Michele has beautiful olive tan skin. Add some glow to your skin and check out MAC’s mineralized blush in Gleeful! These go on smooth with just the right amount of colour. The outcome is very natural and flawless looking cheeks. Available at MAC cosmetics for $25 Canadian.

Keep an eye out for Lea Michele who is set to play Dorothy in the upcoming CGI animated film Dorothy of Oz, set to hit theatres 2011.

Lea Michele is really a great actress. I admired her acting talent but in speaking of attitude? I don't think so.

By the way thanks for sharing!

  • ... January 31, 2012 End of January 2012 already? Say what?! Now that we are in the midst of winter, albeit warm and actually quite nice out, I'm in a stage of wearing minimal makeup in order to keep my face looking fresh and clean and opposed to dry and cracked. First, I used plenty of moisturizer to hydrate the skin and once that has sunk in, I applied a selection of Bobbi Brown concealers to the under eye area and around the nose, chin and cheeks to minimize dark circles and redness. Blend blend blend. Then I rubbed in some Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pale Pink to the cheeks and dotted some onto the lips as well. I topped it off with Bobbi Brown lip gloss in Citrus - a new electric orange gloss from the new Neon and Nudes line. - Stephanie, Ms. BlushPretty

  • … Ardell Half Lashes in 301 and 305 I used to be a big fan of building up the outer lash area using single clusters ... but as of late, it's Ardell's 301 and 305 that sends my brides' (and mine) heart flutter. Using these lashes, I think, gives the exaggeration of a full strip, but the natural "I was born with these lashes" feel. Lash trick: give the glue about 5 to 8 seconds to get tacky before applying to the lash line! - Stephanie, Ms. BlushPretty

And on Thursdays, let's chat about getting pretty - every Thursday, make an appointment at the studio to get your brows groomed at 50% off. Such a steal. So cheers to you ... to Tuesdays and Thursdays ... and to a fatter wallet by year end! - Stephanie, Ms. BlushPretty

  • ... Revlon Illuminance Crème Shadow? This cream based eyeshadow is not like your average eyeshadow. Normally, if you don’t prime your eyes before applying eyeshadow, it can slide right off - leaving little to no product left on the eye. (What's the point then, right?) This cream eyeshadow doesn't disappear or slip or slide, at all. (Yay!) It comes in packs of four different colors but they all go great together. The one that I bought is a nude/neutral set and when I use all the colors together it gives me a natural looking finish. - Alanna D., the intern

  • ... Pencil Concealer from the Body Shop. I needed to buy a new concealer and I just so happened to be looking around in The Body Shop when the saleslady walked up to me and asked me if I needed help - andof course, being the talkative person that I am - I told her I was looking for a new concealer. She recommended their Pencil Concealer that I have now used every day since making the purchase. It is by far my favourite concealer; it covers any imperfections without looking to overdone or covered up. - Alanna D., the intern

  • ... Medium Shopping Bag Makeup Palette from Sephora. I picked up this small palette of makeup from Sephora during the holidays and it is amazing! It comes with 33 eyeshadows, 12 lipsticks, 4 blushes, and 2 bronzers. When I first bought it, I immediately went home to use the lipstick colors. I mixed a few of them together and ended up with a gorgeous pinkish color with a hint of purple. There are so many colors to choose from to mix and match so the possibilities are endless! - Alanna D., the intern
