Share three random things about yourself: I love being surrounded by books, blogs and magazines, but they stockpile and I never seem to find the time to read them; while everyone else was miserable, I was secretly cheering on the cool Toronto weather this summer; secret nerdy pleasure: organizing closets and shelves full of clothes, books and nik-naks.
And now the questions ...
1. You woke up late and have ten minutes to get ready and out the door. What is the beauty routine and list the products you would use.
10 minutes?! Eek. Turn on my flat iron and let it heat while I wash my face, moisturize and apply concealer under my eyes (a must!). Quick iron over the crazy kinks in my hair (the cons of a short 'do), a bit of bronzer and blush, line my waterline, quick mascara and out the door! Wait....lip gloss!
Ceramix flat iron
Cover FX concealer in E0
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Clinique Soft-pressed powder in Pink Blush/ Tarte Cheek Stain in Tipsy
Smashbox Cream Eyeliner in Caviar
Maybelline Full ‘n Soft Mascara in Very Black
Smith’s Rosebud Salve
2. You have ten dollars to spend on beauty product with no coupon to spare nor membership points to redeem. What would you buy and from where?
Maybelline Define-a-Line eyeliner in Ebony Black. Always a reliable go-to staple that stays put even after a night of dancing. Shoppers Drug Mart carries it, and it’s on sale all the time, so I might even have a few bucks to grab a coffee ;)
3. You got sixty dollars to spend on beauty product without a care and anywhere you please. What would you buy and from where?
I would probably grab a Smashbox Cream Liner in Midnight Purple because it lasts forever; and also restock my supply of Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I could grab them from either Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart, but would likely go to Shoppers and stockpile my Optimum Points!
4. Share with us your biggest beauty secret – either a hot tip for us to try ... or your worst beauty disaster ever. Which one will it be?
My biggest money saver is eye make-up remover. For years I’ve been using baby oil, and it takes off everything, no problem! A $3 bottle will last me at least a year, if not more. I guess it’s your job to let me know if that’s terrible for my skin?!
5. Name your poison. Facials worth more than your rent payment, a $2.99 bottle of nail polish that everyone mistakes for Chanel’s latest colour. What’s your guilty beauty pleasure?
Probably my haircuts. I get bored with my look easily, so I usually head to Donna at Coupe Bizzarre every few months and tell her to do whatever she wants! It’s not cheap at $65 a pop, but I think her skill (and our gossip session) is worth it.
