Winter (Wedding) Wonderland
Hair by Stephanie Daga
Weddings aren't just a "summer" thing.
Getting married during the "off-season" is actually becoming quite popular for many reasons: your venue and/or church has more availability, your vendors are cheaper, and there are less weddings to compete with (how many of you have already suffered through a summer of wedding, after wedding, after wedding???)
If you happen to be a winter bride and are searching for some beauty tips for your winter wedding, here are a couple of things I would suggest:
A soft but elegant updo: During the colder months, you can get away with much more drama. An updo is more than appropriate. Keep in mind it doesn't have to be severe and overly slick. Not only will it look classic, but an updo is a great way to hide the unwanted effects of cold winter hair: dryness, frizziness, static!
Moisturize ... and moisturize more: Hydation is key. Keep chapped, dry and cracked skin at arm's length by exfoliating regularly and moisturizing liberally. Apply lip balm to protect the lips. Go heavier on the night cream. Use a deep moisture formula for your body lotion. Below zero temperatures are going to play games on your skin, get defensive now!
Add colour to your face: Even if you wanted to go natural for your wedding day, be brave and add a little more colour. Remember, the white dress alone will wash you out; imagine taking pictures in the blahless, colourless, lifeless scenery which we call winter. Adding a bit more eyeliner, a deep shadow, or a pinkier lip colour will add life to your face and your photos.
